New to Liberty? Let us help!

We understand that many changes come along with a move. One of the biggest changes is often adjusting to a new school. Whether students are joining Liberty from out of our district or transfering from another school in Camas, we like to meet with our new students and their families before they start. During this meeting we discuss the basic structure of our day, go over the student's schedule, discuss the different opportunities available at Liberty, and take a tour of the building. If there is anything else that we can do to help with this transition please reach out to your student's school counselor.

Every Spring, we also hold multiple transition events to help our incoming 6th graders and outgoing 8th graders make these big transitions. With each of these big transition points come some big choices. In Camas we are lucky enough to have four middle schools (Liberty, Skyridge, Odyssey, and Camas Connect Academy) and four high school options (Hayes Freedom, Discovery, Camas, and Camas Connect Academy). To help our students and their families make the right choice for their learning style, all 5th and 8th grade students will learn about the various choices and explore what each school offers before making a choice. Each student will have a chance to go and explore their school of choice to discover first hand all of the opportunities available to them at their new school. More information will be sent to families in the Spring about each of these events. If you believe that your student would benefit from other support in addition to these events, please reach out to your student's middle school counselor. We also return to the building mid-August in order to support all of our transitioning families and prepare for the approaching school year.
