MISSION & VISION

Belief: We believe that with the right support, all students have the capacity to become lifelong learners who are able to manage their emotions, have healthy relationships, and feel successful.

Mission: Our mission is to support students with their academic, social, emotional, and career planning needs through individual meetings, small groups, classroom lessons, and in collaboration with staff and families.

Vision: We envision a data driven school counseling program which supports the school as a whole by providing tiered supports for students through collaboration and education with students, staff, and families.

TEAM

Mrs. McEathron and Mrs. MacKay work as a close team to serve our Liberty Lions. As school counselors, they work hard to support the academic, social, emotional, and future goals of each student. They are a wonderful source of information and enjoy being able to support students and their families through any needs that arise during middle school.

From talking through big emotions, helping friends work through disagreements, planning out students' futures, to celebrating accomplishments big and small, your school counselors are here for whatever middle school may bring!

Our school counselors also serve as coordinators for our WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) 8th grade leadership program. Our application process for this opportunity typically begins after Spring Break of a student's 7th grade year.

Mrs. MacKay

This is Mrs. MacKay's 11th year at Liberty. Her favorite part about being a school counselor is getting to see all of the growth that happens during middle school. When she is not in school, Mrs. MacKay enjoys gardening, knitting, woodworking, playing music, and spending time outside with her baby girl, partner, and doggo.

Mrs. McEathron

Mrs. McEathron has been at Liberty since the beginning. Before becoming a school counselor, she taught Language Arts and Social Studies. She loves being creative and working with kids to find solutions to complicated problems. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, camping and caring for animals on their small farm.
