Family- Community Resource Center

Did you know that Camas has a family-community resource center? The FCRC was opened in the Spring of 2018 and is housed at the Jack, Will, and Rob center, also known as JWR. Olivia Eagle is the FCRC Coordinator and they are open from 10:30 - 12:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. For more information, please click here.

Holiday Support

The holiday season can be an expensive time for families and for those whose resources are already tight, this can be an overwhelming time of year. We are very fortunate to have many resources in the Clark County area to help ease this burden.

Santa’s Posse provides food and some gifts for 1,000 Clark County families during the Holiday season. The Santa’s Posse program is run by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. If you would like to help with this program, they are collecting non-perishable food items and unwrapped toys for kids, ages 0-17. If you could use support from this program, please go to bit.ly/2PwwGmp. Items will be delivered on Dec. 16, 2018 between 8am-12pm. An adult must be home to accept the items.

The C.A.R.O.L. program is run by the Camas-Washougal Fire Department. This program offers holiday food baskets and gifts to families in Camas and Washougal. If you would like to help with the C.A.R.O.L. program, they are collecting non-perishable food items and unwrapped toys for kids, ages 0-16. Donations can be dropped off at the Camas-Washougal Fire Department (the entrance is on Franklin St.)  If you could use support from this program, please call (360) 834-2262 ext. 1 between Nov. 26th and Dec. 19th.

Items will be delivered on Dec. 22, 2018.

This year, Live Love NW is sponsoring Live.Love.Christmas. On Dec. 15, 2018, registered families will be invited to come and “shop” for Christmas gifts, free of charge. There will be refreshments and volunteers to gift-wrap the items. If your family would like to register to participate in this event, please complete the application by Nov. 16, 2018. Click here for an application in English and click here for an application in Spanish. Space is limited, so please apply soon..

Liberty Middle School hosts a Giving Tree every year for families in our district. If you are interested in helping meet specific needs for kids in the Camas school district during the holiday season, gift ideas will be listed on ornaments on our tree.  Please return wrapped gifts, with the tag from our tree, by December 17, 2018.  If you would like to request some items through our giving tree, please complete our survey at bit.ly/2yKqNZp before Dec. 7th.

Treasure House also offers gifts and a holiday meal to local families. They are accepting non-perishable food donations and unwrapped gifts for kids ages 0-18. Donations can be dropped off at Treasure House (91 C Street, Washougal) or in the Liberty front office. Treasure house also supplies the food for the weekend food program for students in Camas. If you could use holiday or food support from Treasure House, please call (360) 834-4181. If your family could benefit from the weekend food program, please contact your student’s school counselor.
